The German automaker – Volkswagen has recently unveiled the all-new sixth generation Polo hatchback at a media even at the VW headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany. The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Polo has been built on the versatile MQB A0 platform, which is also shared by the Volkswagen Tiguan. To be precise, it isn’t a face-lift version of the outgoing Polo, and it is the all-new generation 2018 VW Polo – bigger and better than before.

 

The 2018 Volkswagen Polo has been caught testing many a times, and now it has been officially unveiled. The all-new Volkswagen Polo carries a redesigned exterior which looks sportier and dynamic, much better than before. Also, VW has teased a few pictures of VW Polo with yellow paint, adding to the fun. The new design theme, aesthetics and sport demeanor are surely going to attract a lot of young buyers towards itself.

Advanced Technology

 

The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Polo has been added with a bunch of modern features. The people at Volkswagen have ensured that the new Polo comes packed with technology in every possible way. As a result, the 2018 VW Polo comes with a lot of high-tech features as standard, including – wireless phone charger, all-digital instrument cluster, pedestrian monitoring system, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert, tyre pressure monitor, brake energy recuperation, start/stop button and a lot more.

 


Bigger Engine for Polo GTI

 

The all-new generation 2018 Volkswagen Polo GTI is powered by a bigger and better 2.0-litre TSI engine, churning an amazing power of 197bhp. The previous generation Volkswagen Polo GTI variant was powered by 1.4-litre twin-charged engine, which was later replaced by a better 1.8-litre turbo engine. And now, the bigger and better 2.0-litre TSI engine is going to offer a thrilling driving experience.

 


Bigger than the Predecessor

 

The new 2018 VW Polo is 81mm longer, 63mm wider and 7mm lower than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has also been increased by 94mm, which now stands at 2,564mm. This all-new hatch measures 4,053mm in length, 1,751mm in width and 1,446mm in height. Being built on the MQB A0 platform, the new Polo has an improved road presence with a increase in exterior dimensions. Volkswagen has also claimed that the new Polo is going to offer larger interior space with increased headroom. The boot of 351 litres is also bigger than the outgoing model.

 


Bold & Stylish

 

The new VW Polo 2018 has become bolder and the exterior looks have been upgraded to the next level. The new design language clearly reflects the hard work by Volkswagen designers. On the front, there is all-new single slat chrome grille that extends to the headlamps on both sides. Below the new headlamps, sits the new LED daytime running lights, which is a must-have nowadays in every car segment. The front and rear bumpers are designed to match the sportiness of the car.

 


Launch in India

 

Sadly, there is no official word on the launch date and expected price of 2018 Volkswagen Polo in India. There have been rumors around that Volkswagen is working on the replacement of existing VW Polo in India. And now, it can be expected that Volkswagen may replace the existing VW Polo in India with the re-engineered and new-gen 2018 Volkswagen Polo, which was unveiled recently.
